The Wishie Campaign

With every wish made during Global Diaspora Week, stapled along a $25 loan to light up a home, on behalf of the wisher.

Milaap hosted a daily online campaign during Global Diaspora Week 2014 called the “Whishie Campaign” which invited South Asian diaspora and diasporas from around the world to make “wishes” for hardworking families in India. With every wish, Milaap stapled along a $25 loan on behalf of the wisher to light a home in India.

Milaap loans for solar energy lamps have enabled improvements for school studies, higher income generation, and better health. This online campaign encouraged people to join hands with each other and pay back to their roots.
