This online session held on October 16, 2014 and hosted by DiasporaEngager, addressed Innovation in science, technology, and engineering as key drivers of development for all countries.
With the massive migration of intellectuals from one country to another (e.g. developing countries to developed countries), the engagement of expatriate scientists and researchers in the development of their countries is not being fully achieved. A few institutions and governments are looking for models to engage the international diaspora in science, technology, and engineering.
This conference explored how the international diaspora engagement network platform (www.DiasporaEngager.com) is connecting scientists, researchers, innovators, students, schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, international institutions, and nations to the global diaspora in order to work together to find a solution to local and international problems that can be addressed by science and research.
After the conference, attendees asked questions and discussed their ideas and propositions from different perspectives. For questions about the conference or DiasporaEngager, please email contact@DiasporaEngager.com.
