Music Stalwarts Join Hands with their Counterpart in the Charity World

Sankara Eye Foundation was formed as a non-profit wing of the Sankara Eye Care Institutions in India to raise funds for the noble cause of eradicating curable blindness in India. What sets them apart from a horde of other organizations is their model of 80:20 (free to paid) patient ratio. They have not only been able to follow this model, but also achieve envious results. More than 1.4 million free eye surgeries have been performed to date and millions have started a new life. The organization has organized free eye camps, internships for students, and prides itself on running the show through a largely volunteer base. A major chunk of the funds for Sankara Eye Foundation come from fundraising events which include concerts by stalwarts from the Indian Film Industry.

During the month of April and May 2016 Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa will be touring various cities in the United States as part of the fundraiser concerts for Sankara Eye Foundation. The trio belong to the Indian Movie Industry and started their career together with the Movie called Dus. Though the movie never saw light of the day, the music was released later. They paired up again as music composers for Mission Kashmir and it was a huge hit. Since then they have done multiple hit films, and concerts across the world. Their fan base has only increased over the years. They are so good together, that they are often referred to as the Amar Akbar Anthony (after characters in a renowned movie of the 70s) of the music industry.

As much as they love their music, helping those in distress comes as second nature to them. They have a long association with supporting causes through their music over the years and it only continues to grow. Shankar, Ehsaan, and Loy have performed concerts as part of AIDS awareness campaigns, to raise funds for the physically challenged in Chennai and for a pediatric medical camp in Bihar, among many others. It is no surprise that they are joining hands with Sankara Eye Foundation and touring five cities as part of the fundraisers. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy an amazing musical extravaganza and support a great cause in the process. For tickets to the concert, please visit:
