The Bureau of African Affairs, Public Diplomacy & Public Affairs and the Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP) partnered up for a GDW 2015 event highlighting Kenyan diasporan Ms. Njeri Moore!
On Tuesday, October 13th she virtually met with students for one hour from her primary school in Kenya. The students started their day with a tour of the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi and finished with our conference call from the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC!
Ms. Njeri Moore, a Management and Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of State spoke with students from Gatondo Primary School in Nairobi, Kenya about her life – what growing up in her small village meant to her, overcoming challenges, getting a good education and pursuing her dreams.
Ms. Njeri Moore discussed more than her life journey, she also went into detail about her project Lucy’s Blue Ribbon with primary age school children. She also discussed her plans to deliver school supplies in December, 2015 to the school. She continues to be energized and excited about the future of her Lucy’s Blue Ribbon project.
