African Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management, and African Community Renewal co-organized a national day of volunteering during Global Diaspora Week. The day fostered diaspora and civic engagement by bringing together members of Diaspora Organizations across the United States for a day of community service as a sign of their appreciation to their country of residence.
Each registered diaspora member or organization was assigned a volunteer task at one of the locations where volunteer opportunities had been identified. As an example of the spirit of volunteerism, Lemou Bafou -USA joined hundreds of volunteers across the nation to make a difference in their communities. These activities were conducted within the African Diaspora Day of Caring 2014 when the Lemou Bafou members gathered in action at Catholic Charity Washington DC. To see more photos, click here.
