Star 100 organized an event for Global Diaspora Week 2015 with a focus on buying residential property in Ghana. The event consisted of educational presentations and panel sessions, a property exhibition, and a networking reception sponsored by Clifton Homes.
During the event we explained the key aspects of buying residential property in Ghana; the market, financing a purchase, legal considerations, and on-going management and maintenance. We discussed how to purchase residential properties in the range $40k to $250k, in Accra and beyond and met the heads of Ghana’s leading property developers at the networking reception.
Star 100 is a Ghana-focused diaspora network, based in London. It was founded in the UK in June 2004 with the aim of connecting 100 likeminded professionals – hence the name.
Today we have some 900 registered members. Our members cover a wide range of professions from Finance, Management Consultancy, Law, Media and Entertainment to Technology, Civil Engineering and Social Work.
Our aims are to provide opportunities for members to:
1) Network online and offline, for social and business purposes
2) Develop their personal and career skills
3) Learn about Ghana’s history, culture, politics and economics
4) Give back to and create links with Ghana
The backbone of the group are our networking meet-ups which take place in London.
Our meet-ups range from unstructured socials in a bar/restaurant to more structured enhanced meet-ups such as talks and workshops. To date we have played host to Prof. Nana Apt, Prof. Eddie Obeng, June Milne, Dr. Spio Garbrah and Nana Akufo-Addo.
