The Role of the Diaspora in Health and Education Emergencies

For Global Diaspora Week 2014, African Foundation for Development (AFFORD) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) hosted The Role of the Diaspora in Health and Education Emergencies: Spotlight on Nigeria and Lesotho, on October 14, 2014 at SOAS, University of London.

This event saw the launch of research studies conducted for IOM by Equinox Consulting on mapping of Nigerian diaspora health and education professionals, and by AFFORD on mapping diaspora healthcare professionals in Lesotho. These studies are having particular relevance in the context of unfolding health emergencies in West Africa in particular.
