Diaspora Engagement with American Friendship Club


During Global Diaspora Week 2014, DiasporaMinistry Logo Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues held a volunteerism activity together with American Friendship Club (AFC) and a number of diaspora members who had recently returned from the United States.

Diaspora members shared stories of livelihood abroad and talked about the challenges and prospects of enhancing diaspora engagements between the Georgian Diaspora in the U.S. and the local society. An MOU was signed between the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues and the American Friendship Club.

The American Friendship Club was established in 2004 and has been actively working on strengthen cooperation and friendship between Georgia and the United States of America ever since.
