The 2014 Africa TechWomen Emerging Leaders event was part of TechWomen, an initiative of the State Department, coordinated by Institute of International Education and hosted by the African Diaspora Network. The program focuses on emerging women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from Africa and the Middle East.
African TechWomen’s Global Diaspora Week ceremony was the 2nd annual gathering with phenomenal women leaders from Africa. Participants heard about their journies, work, and explored ways to collaborate with the other women engineers, scientists, educators, and IT experts from Africa.
This event was free and opened to the public. The Africa TechWomen event was held on October 18th, and was also part of The Silicon Valley Africa Film Festival (SVAFF), which took place October 17-19th.
