handout

The 6th Annual Silicon Valley African Film Festival showcased 40 films from 17 African countries. The event took place from October 16-18th drawing enthusiastic crowds in great numbers to the Silicon Valley area.

Highlights included: red carpet walk, live performances, dialogue with Filmmakers, Innovate Africa Technology forum, African market, awards redCarpet2ceremony.

Voted Best in Silicon Valley, the Silicon Valley African Film Festival continues to be the only film festival in California that is exclusively focused on films made by African filmmakers and, crucially, provides audiences with exquisite lenses to the real Africa. The festival’s mission, thus, aims at promoting finer understanding and greater appreciation of Africa and Africans through moving images. SVAFF has become an annual destination film event in Silicon Valley and a showcase of seasoned and emerging filmmakers from the African continent whose works reflect the stories, hopes and dreams of Africa.
